One more story about child execution in Iran.

Do not let them be forgotten!

 Reported by official newspaper Etemad in Iran, Amir Amrolahi 19 is about to be executed in Iran.

He was 16 at the time when he was send to grocery store to buy bread by his mother. As he got there he found out that his friends were in about to fight an older boy by name of Mohsen. Amir took knife from one of his friends so the knife would not heart anybody if there would be any physically fight. Suddenly Mohsen saw the Knife on his hand and attacked him, as he was stronger, start beating him. He just showed the knife in front of him so he would be scared and not beat him any more. But, during beating the knife injured Mohsen and after a while they found him dead. Witnesses do not recognize Amir as killer and saw some other as engaged. Amir goes to his father crying and explaining everything and his father took him to the police station. Witnesses do not recognize him as offender. He, afterwards, confessed that the knife was in his hand by taking it from his friend just to prevent any one to be hurt as he arrived to the scene. His own confession just the bit he had hold the knife made him guilty and be convicted of murder. His trust worthy details that he did not want to fight just wanted to protect his friend  not to get hurt was not enough. The authority would not even care to consider all that. Not even that in such cases there is a law in Islam and be practiced in Islamic Republic of Iran called “Ghesas”. This Law leave all decision on victim’s family. Instead of law and fair court it would be family’s decision how they want to deal with convicted person. And now apparently, the family has decided to use that law “Ghesas” to punish him.

Amir is about to be executed after being in prison for three years to be old enough to get that punishment. There is no concern if he was just 16 years old at the time of accident.  There is no court to take the case rationally to go through all the matters in what situation the accident happened.  Because, he confessed himself that the knife was in his hand, he is up to be executed. Law of “Ghesas” gives all right to the victim’s family to decide destiny of a person with little rationality they can come up with in such a situation   . As we all rational people know a 16 years old kid can not be a murderer. He was just sent to grocery to buy bread by his mother. Violence in society is what we adult in general have created for our children. We have not created a safe environment for our children to live in peace. And when all these are simple facts who all know in such a situation, our kids have to pay our societies’ deficiencies  to come up with such a barbaric regime. As in this case, Islamic Law are so primitive that leave no space for anyone to challenge such a barbaric rules. People of Iran are against such laws.  They have been left with no way to change this rules as long as this fascist regime is in power. By the regime own statistics last year more than 30 children were executed in Iran. Right now, there are 8 children in prison waiting for execution. We are trying to stop Amir Amrolahi’s execution and demand fair consideration about his case. By our success to free Amir, we are taking one more step to ban all such barbaric rules that they have been practiced in Iran for decades.
